Weasel mustela nivalis smallest carnivor mammal long slender body short legs and short unmarked tail. Light brown upper and white underside pink nose.
This weasel was spotted searching through the tunnels formed in the drying brown ferns and bracken. I took these images when its head and neck popped up and looked around for about 20 seconds or so. It dived into the brackenhead first on first sighting and no black tip to the tail was seen making it a weasel.
