Utilization op Existing Facilities For the repairs of the electric locomotives there havebeen utilized so far as is possible the facilities existingprior to the introduction of electric operation. Allheavy repairs are to be made at the shop at DeerLodge, and running repairs and inspections are now. ST. When the whole electric zone is electricallyoperated, the roundhouses at Harlowtown, Avery andMissoula will also be used for running repairs andinspection. The roundhouses at each of these points originallyhad 110-ft. stalls so that they could house the largeMallet engines that are in service on the several divi-sions. Recently these stalls have been extended by theaddition of vestibules to make them 120 ft. long, thislength being sufficient to house the electric changes have been found necessary for the round-house turntables, since these were originally 115 The electric locomotives move onto the turn-table at the Deer Lodge shops under their own power,and thence into the roundhouse stalls under power froma low-voltage circuit.
