Shy albatross taking off


Shy albatross (Thalassarche cauta, formerly Diomedea cauta) taking off in the coastal waters of the Western Cape coast of South Africa in winter. These birds are fairly abundant in the presence of fishing trawlers which operate about 20 nautical miles off Cape Point.
