The Beaumont Hotel was developed by Grosvenor and is being operated by Corbin & King Hotels, the company founded by the restaurateurs Jeremy King and Chris Corbin. The project has involved the conversion of a Grade II listed Art Deco style building, originally designed as a garage and previously occupied by Avis Rent–A–Car. An inhabitable sculpture by the artist Antony Gormley entitled ROOM sits above the building's south wing as a modular piece forming the bedroom of one of the suites.
