Plover Scar lighthouse in River Lune estuary with scaffolding and crane around stump of the lighthouse during restoration works.

In March 2016 Plover Scar lighthouse in the River Lune estuary was damaged when hit by a ship. The Lancaster Port Commissioners set in progress restoration works to rebuild the lighthouse to it's original condition. The lighthouse is seen here partly dismantled with stones laid out on the shore in the foreground and a crane and scaffolding on the stump of the lighthouse. In the distance is Black Combe (mountain in Lake District).
