Engraving of the ruined mole of Puteoli, now a seaport of Campania, was the site of christian community found by Paul on his journeys. (Acts 28:13,14) The harbor was rendered doubly safe by a mole, at least 418 yards in length, made of massive piers connected by arches constructed in solid masonry.
