Entomological research. Entomologist for DRASS (Regional Directorates for Health and Social Affairs) studying mosquito larvae in relation to the Chikungunya epidemic on Reunion Island. The Chikungunya virus is an alphavirus, which is transmitted by mosquitoes and causes a rare form of viral fever. Symptoms include a high fever, rash and arthritic joint pain. There is currently no vaccine for the virus. Photographed in February 2006.
