First Class Petty Officers selected for the rank of Chief Petty Officer, assigned to the first-in-class aircraft carrier USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN 78) Carrier Strike Group 12, Carrier Air Wing (CVN) 8, and Destroyer Squadron 2 participate in a flight deck 5k run, Oct. 16, 2022. The Gerald R. Ford Carrier Strike Group is deployed in the Atlantic Ocean, conducting training and operations alongside NATO Allies and partners to enhance integration for future operations and demonstrate the Navy’s commitment to a peaceful, stable and conflict-free Atlantic region.
