Osney Abbey near Oxford, late 18th-early 19th century. Osney Abbey was an Augustinian monastery founded at Osney, Oxfordshire, in 1129. It briefly served as the seat of the Bishop of Oxford after dissolution in 1539, but fell into ruin after the see was transferred to Christ Church Cathedral, Oxford, in 1546.
