Scotrail takes delivery of its first brand new Class 385 train to be used on the Glasgow to Edinburgh service.
Abellio Scotrail has taken delivery of the first new Class 385 electric train destined to be used on the Glasgow to Edinburgh service. The first of a new fleet ordered from Hitachi will reduce the journey time and provide more space and comfort for passengers on this busy commuter service. The first train designated 385102 is a 4 car electric multiple unit, EMU, and will be tested during the night from this week and entered into full service from December 2017. The train was towed overnight from Darlington and delivered to the Scotrail Shields train maintenance depot in Glasgow.
