FREDERICK HENRY HENSHAW - British 19thC OIL PAINTING


Frederick Henshaw was born in Birmingham in 1807. He trained as an artist with J V Barber. In 1826 Henshaw moved to London and studied landscape painting. In 1837 Henshaw left England for Europe. He returned to Birmingham in 1841 where he stayed until his death in 1891, only leaving Birmingham for annual sketching trips. self portrait
