STEREOTACTIC SURGERY

Stereotaxic biopsy (fitted frame attached to base of patient's skull, to specify the exact location in the brain to target) guided by a CT scan. Stereotaxic biopsies allow removing tissue for analysis from delicate areas without disturbing surrounding regions. The aim of future neurosurgery development is to intervene on deep cerebral structures without risks and without complications. Administering pre-operative anesthesia is pictured here.
