Solomon's Temple at Grin Low near Buxton

Dominating the skyline towards the south of Buxton is Solomon's Temple. Built in 1896, it stands at an altitude of 1440 feet on a bronze age barrow. The view afforded to the visitor of this temple is well worth trekking to its lofty heights. On a clear day it offers exhilarating views across the town and as far away as Mam Tor, that iron age settlement standing proud on the horizon towards the north east. Solomon's Temple was built by Solomon Mycock, who is said to have provided work for the local unemployed of that time.
