The Metallic Shield Type of Blow-Out A somewhat unique but efficient type of blow-out isused in the controllers manufactured by Dick, Kerr & a less effective blow-out for the contacts most distantfrom the blow-out coil. This was brought about byusing two blow-out coils, one on either side of the con-troller, running the entire length of the contacts. It isknown as the field type blow-out on account of itsresemblance to the field of a two-pole motor. An ac-companying illustration shows the arrangement of thecoils, which are so wound that the faces of the pole. Electric DICK-KERR METALLIC SHIELD BLOW-OUT
