Evening view over Whitby from St Mary's Churchyard, North Yorkshire, England, UK

The people are at the top of the 199 steps which climb the East Cliff. The cross on the right is in memory of Caedmon, a monk who worked in the abbey under Hild, and died circa 680. It is modelled on early English Celtic picture crosses and was erected in the 19 th century.
