A slightly thicker, but equally fine, contour thread has been used to accentuate pattern parts. The motifs are connected by a nice mesh ground with transverse revolutions. Very fine ornamental grounds have been applied in and around most flowers and leaves in many variants, including ornamental grounds with diamonds, 'partridge eyes', blocks and zigzag lines. A bar of ground decorated with picots was used as ornamental ground in a few leaves. The scallop edge is finished with picots.
