The torture and death room (and now memorial) at The Plötzensee Memorial Centre, Berlin. The beam at the far end could hang eight prisoners at a time. This was often carried out using piano wire rather than rope to slowly strangle the victims rather than kill them quickly. The Plotzensee prison was used to imprison and execute political opponents and dissidents (89 of 200 July Bomb Plot prisoners were executed here). Those sentenced at the Nazi Supreme Court of Justice (Kammergericht) in Berlin ended up in Plotzensee.
