Coast Guardsmen Aid the Wounded at Saipan. Wounded in the bitter fighting for possession of Saipan, an American soldier on a stretcher is carefully lowered by Coast Guardsmen into the sick bay of the Coast Guard-manned assault transport. The ship participated in the invasion which resulted in capture of the Jap bastion of the Marianas.
