Astronaut self-portrait. Return to Flight astronaut Steve Robinson taking a self-portrait photograph. This was taken during the third spacewalk while space shuttle Discovery was docked to the International Space Station (ISS). During the 6 hour spacewalk Robinson repaired the heat shield (seen reflected at centre), after it was found that two ceramic strips were protruding from it. It was feared the strips might have lead to overheating of the shield during Discovery's re-entry. This mission, Return to Flight or STS- 114, launched on 26th July 2005. It was the first shuttle mission since Columbia was lost on re- entry on 1st February 2003. Photographed on 3 August 2005.
