The hemorrhage is always dangerous,and has proved fatal. Vegetations of the vulva may reach excessive size in preg-nancy. They are likely to give rise to an irritating, foul secre-tion. It is sometimes possible to excise the growth. Excessivehemorrhage, however, is to be feared, and the operation mightterminate pregnancy. Pruritus vulva? may be a neurosis or may be due to irritatingvaginal discharges and to glycosuria. The disease is oftentimesmost intractable to treatment. Antiseptic vaginal injections may. In the worst cases the womanbecomes almost maniacal. She may walk the floor all night,tearing at the vulva with her finger-nails until the labia are rawand her fingersare stained with blood. In such cases the induc-tion of labor must be considered. Hdema of the vulva maybe unilateral or bilateral, and in somepregnant women reaches an extreme degree. It is due to pres-sure upon the pelvic veins, to kidney insufficiency, or, in the uni-lateral form, t labial abscess.
