Anton "Tony" Bilek, a command ball cap after giving him a tour of the ship. In return, Bilek presented Snyder and other members of Bataan a book of memoirs he wrote about his days spent as a prisoner of war in a Japanese prison camp during World War II. Bilek was one of 75,000 American and Filipino troops forced to endure the Bataan Death March, a weeklong, ninety-mile hike involving more than 10,000 people. Navy
