ALCHEMY - TREE OF THE MOON - HERMAPHRODITE Engraving from Johann Daniel Mylius, Philosophia Reformata, 1622. The Tree of the Moon or the Arbor Argentum, and the fact that the hermaphrodite s tands on a crescent Moon, indicates that this stage in the alchemical process marks the perfection of what is called the First Silver. The Hermaphrodite figure, of the merged king and queen indicates that the process is not yet complete, as integration has not taken place.
