A German war chest, 2nd half of 17th century. Heavy iron body reinforced with straps and rivets, moveable side handles. The front with two hasps and an ornamentally forged false lock. In the lid a lock with six bolts (mechanism and cover plate missing, some of the retaining plates added). The interior featuring a side compartment with hinged lid and painted in red (colour of later date).
