Following the killing of a 12-year-old Palestinian child, Abed al-Rahman Shadi Obeidallah, from Aida Refugee Camp, by Israeli soldiers, in Bethlehem, West Bank Palestinian youth took to the streets of Bethlehem and clashed with Israeli soldiers. The death of Abed al-Rahman Shadi Obeidallah comes less than 24 hours after another Palestinian youth, 18-year-old, Huthaifa Othman Suleiman from Tulkarem, in the West Bank was also shot and killed by Israeli soldiers. The recent spate of violence in the West Bank and Jerusalem has been continually rising, and in the past two weeks has claimed the lives of six Palestinians, and four Jewish Israeli settlers. Tensions between Israelis and Palestinians have been strained since Israeli forces have continually stormed the Al Aqsa Mosque for the past two months, assaulting Palestinian Muslim worshippers and restricting access to the Holy site. These actions, coupled with the brutal arson murder of a family from a Palestinian village by Jewish Israeli terrorists, have been the focal points for reprisal attacks by Palestinians and vice versa.
