A fine cased pair of percussion pistols,Gastinne Renette,Paris,circa 1850. No serial number. Darkly browned octagonal barrels with bright,twelve-groove rifled bores in 11 mm calibre. Barrel lengths cm. Total lengths cm. Machined on tops of barrels,the lock plates inscribed,"Fn par GASTINNE RENETTE A PARIS". The undersides of the barrels are numbered "1" and "2",respectively. Colour case-hardened lock plates,side plates,cocks,tangs,pommel plates,and screw heads,all display the finest vine engraving.
