In August 1914 hewas appointed to a similar post in ArdrossanAcademy. Urquhart joined up before the end of1914, receiving a commission in the Argyll andSutherland Highlanders. He proceeded toFrance in June 1916 and was soon recognizedas an efficient officer. Coming successfullythrough the great attack at Bapaume he waskilled by a stray bullet the following morning,24 April 1917, while talking to a brother was an inspiring teacher and a great favourite. 57 IN MEMORIAM.
