During the day a ceremony was held for more than 35 employers who were honored by their California Army National Guard employee for the support they provide the Soldier to let them serve their community, state and country. On Dec. 3 they were invited to join their Soldiers and families during their holiday drill weekend located at the Mather Army Aviation Support Facility, home to Co. C, 1-168th Aviation Regiment and Det. 1, Co. F, 2-135th General Support Aviation Battalion. The employers had the rare opportunity to catch an orientation flight in one of the units' UH-60 Black Hawks. They also toured the facility and learned a little bit about what their troop does when they let them off work to train. The award for "Patriotic Employer" was from the Office of the Secretary of Defense and the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) office.
