Radiosonde radar cabin. This is the GL III radar cabin, a Canadian military radar unit adapted for use by researchers needing to track airborne devices. Radiosondes are units designed to measure meteorological data when deployed on a weather balloon, and transmit that data back to a receiving station. The data gathered is used by the Met Office, the UK's national weather monitoring and forecasting service. Photographed at the Met Office weather station at Hemsby, Norfolk, UK, in October 1959.
