The Morgan In the assembly area at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, July 12th 2002. Morgan's return to La Sarthe was greeted by an amazing response from the crowd of over 220,000. The Le Mans car features an aluminium alloy chassis and Heini Mader-tuned M62 BMW V8 engine, which delivers over 500bhp. It was developed from the Aero 8 road car under the guidance of Morgan's Chief Development Engineer and 1962 Le Mans 24-hour class winner, Christopher Lawrence. Driven here by Steve Hyde and Richard Stanton and also Charles Morgan.
