Pool and Spa Test Strip
Pool and spa test strips are used to test the conditions of pool and spa water including. Each of the four pads on the strip test for a different chemical level. Starting from the end of the strip and moving towards the handle are the following: pH, free chlorine, total alkalinity, and stabilizer (cyanuric acid). The colors listed on the back of the bottle indicate the conditions of the water when compared to the colors visible on the test strip. In this example the pH is around , the free chlorine is at 5 parts per million (ppm), the total alkalinity is 120 ppm and the stabilizer is 100 ppm.
