A better name wouldbe Belgian rabbit, but usage has decreed it shall be call-ed hare. Away back in the early part of the present century someBelgian scientists set about producing an animal that wouldpartake of the good qualities of all the best known varieties. SHAMROCK. From the white English rabbit is obtainedsize as the valuable quality. Its color and shape are unde-sirable and breeders are continually trying to subdue or er-adicate the white color still remaining on the Belgian. Tothe small black Dutch rabbit the Belgian owes its strengthand vitality. From the same source comes the black tick-ing and the lacing of the ears.
