ISLAND OF EIGG, SCOTLAND - 31st OCTOBER 2007: Camille Dressler, 50, in the craft shop beside the island's pier where she works, holding the book she wrote "Eigg - The Story Of An Island". She has been on the island for 25 years. She has been interested in traditional music and has been involved with cultural regeneration on the island. "For 20 years we lived without power. I could only work at night when we ran the generator for lighting. When we finally got a battery set and inverter I was able to work during the day but it is still a huge amount of time and effort to maintain our home system. "Electrification - I think it is going to change our lives altogether. It will bring us into the 21st century, although we will still be frugal with our use. The things we were lacking have been compensated for by co-operation with the community, but I don't think this will change."
