The man on the left in the background with the cart accompanies one of the monks and carts the gifted food along with the walking monk, the food later to be mostly re-distributed to lay people - a common practice. The monks usually receive so much food that the monks can't carry it in their alms bowls and they can only eat a fraction of it all.
