Light microscope. Light microscope with a high resolution digital camera (top) attached to it. The magnifying objective lenses are located just above the specimen table, or stage. An electrical light source directs light through the specimen and into one of the objective lenses. This is a trinocular microscope. The image can either be viewed through two eyepieces simultaneously (black tubes at furthest left) to give a binocular view, or through a single eyepiece (above binocular eyepieces).
