Game rangers in the Kruger National Park are working to protect the animals and environment against wildlife criminal syndicates in South Africa


A sedated wilddog which had a steel wire snare around its neck is set up on the back of a bakkie to have the snare removed by veterinarians in the Kruger National Park. The snare was removed from around the dog's neck. DNA samples and blood samples were also taken from the dog before it was released to rejoin its pack. Photo: Lucas Ledwaba/Mukurukuru Media
