The imperial chateau of Laxenburg (570 ft.), which is ad-joined by a small village, lies in an old hunting-ground of the HO Route 2. LAXENBURG. Environs Dukes of Austria. The Altes Schloss, used only by shooting-parties,was rebuilt in 1693 et seq., after its destruction by the Turks. TheNeues Schloss (Blauer Hof), a plain two-storied edifice, with ex-tensive out-buildings, dates from the reign of Maria Theresa andJoseph II. (ca. 1752 et seq.).
