Another reason that was stronglyurged was the necessity for more room, to properly carry outall the pur]loses of the numerous growing societies of the churchand Sunday school. With this end in view, two lots were noughton the corner of Twelfth Avenue and Fourteenth Street. Stepswere taken to pay for these lots, and a good part of what wasneeded was secured in cash and subscriptions, despite the panicof the early nineties, which seriously affected business andreligious EU V. WEIGLE, Dr. Weigle, receiving a unanimous call to become pastor ofTrinity Lutheran Church at Mechanicsburg, Pa., accepted thesame and preached his farewell sermon Sun lay evening, Decem-ber 29, 1895. At the close of this last service. Dr. Weigle reada summary of his parochial work during his pastorate of theFirst Lutheran Church, from April i, 1K87, to January 1, 1896:Infant baptisms, (124: accessions to communicant ,097 ; making an average of 125 per year. Pastoral visits, 7,004 ;visits to the sick, 2,019, making a total of 9,023, or an averageoi [,03] per year. The number of funerals was 400. Moneys 369 NORTHEAST CONFERENCE raised for local expenses during these years, as taken from theMinutes of Synod, exclusive of the amount raised since lastmeeting of Synod on September 10, 189
