Busiel, whowas at that time one of the managingdirectors of the Concord railroad, andit was through his efforts and localpride that Laconia was granted such anexpensive and magnificent passengerstation. History will accord to A. Busiel the honor of constructingthe Lake Shore railroad and the erec-tion of the Laconia passenger station,and these two things will stand as mon-uments to the man for years to come. To give a proper history of therecord of Laconias citizen-soldiers inthe War of the Revolution, the War of. Depot Square before the Cc Depot. was under the auspices of the LaconiaBoard of Trade, and Gov. Hiram A. Tut-tle and numerous other railroad and stateofficials were guests of the brass band escorted Ticket AgentE. S. Cook from the old depot to thenew structure, and the first ticket, goodfor a ride from Laconia to Concord,was sold at public auction, and bid offby Col. F. 6. Wallace for the sum ofthirty dollars. The Board of Trade andtheir guests enjoyed a banquet at theEagle hotel, and the depot was formallydedicated with appropriate speeches bythe governor, the railroad officials, andprominent citizens. The Laconia depotat the time of its construction was pro-nounced by competent judges to bewithout doubt, all things considered, 1812, and the War of the Rebellion,will require more space than can beafforded in the pages of this publica-tion.
