Hertzler, and Henry Pike, during the latter part of September next, the arrangements being in charge ofthe following committee : General Theodore B. Gates, Colonel John McEntee and SurgeonRobert Loughran. The regiment was mustered into the United States service at Kingstonin Orfcober, 1861, and fought at Beverly Ford, Warrenton Springs, Gainesville, Groveton,Bull Run (1862), Chantilly, South Mountain, Autietam, Fredericksburg, Gettysburg, Peters-burg and •?? ^•^•?•*:^ ?it-,; «*<x» Mi.,/ 53d Pennsylvania (Veteran Volunteers), will hold their Re-Union at Gettysburg, Pa., onMorxay, September 17, 1888. At the same time the Monument of the regiment, in thewheat field, will be unveiled. Every survivor of the regiment, with such of their friends assee fit to come, are expected, as well as all of those who had friends or relatives in the regi-ment. The Monumental Committee are: George C. Anderson, President; William Mentzer,Stu-etarv ; G. C. M. Eicholtz, P. N. Schriger, John Shields and EU Chambers. The State of Maine has contracted for all her Monuments, but they are not to be com-pleted until October 1, soon after which date a Maine Day will be selected on which allthe Monuments will be dedicated. The contractors, as a special favor, will complete those ofthe 3d and 17th Regiments in time for the Re-Union. Tbe following veterans will representthe State on the occasion of the reception to the survivors of the Confederate
