The boilers were equipped with Roney mechanical stokers byWestinghouse, Church, Kerr & Company, and this plant has thedistinction of being the largest installation of mechanical stokers rightly claim the distinction of leader in number and capacity ofstokers as well as in character of equipment. A brief description of the present form of the Roney mechanicalstoker, which is playing such an important part in these large powerequipments, will be interesting at this time, when so many largeplants are being installed.
