Payne, of Milwaukee, will call to order the first ses-sion of the thirteenth annual convention of the AmericanStreet Railway Association, in Machinery Hall of thePiedmont E.\-position, Atlanta, Ga. The occasion will be noteworthy, from the fact that thecity of Atlanta is the smallest that has ever entertainedthe association, and that this is the farthest south that theassociation has gone to hold its sessions, but it is, withoutthe least tremor or apprehension on the part of any one,that the street railway men of the country place theirconvention and annual good time into the hands of thebrightest, most modern and most hospitable of southerncities. The association will be warmly welcomed by the citi-zens of Atlanta, and at no time in the history of theorganization has the general public taken so warm aninterest in the affair.
