The Grand Canal, palazzo and Accademia bridge
On the extreme right of the picture is Palazzo Barbaro (comprised of two palaces) bought by the Curtis family in 1885, Monet and Whistler both painted here and Henry James wrote mustard coloured building nearest the Accademia bridge is Palazzo Franchetti Cavalli which belong to Archduke Frederick of Austria who died here in 1836.
