The natural history has been ably treated and the illustrations from Cheshire's " Bees and Bee-keeping," add to the interest of this chapter. It is a pity, however, that the old figure showing the wax scales has not been discarded for one showing these scales in their correct positions. The practical part of the work is quite up to date, and we congratulate the editor in bringing out such a useful book, and can recommend it to those of our readers who know the Italian language.
