Concord-type stagecoaches of the old Pioneer Line meeting a passenger train at Cisco, California, in 1867, when Cisco was the terminus of the Central Pacific. At this point, Central Pacific work forces had construced 92 miles of line from the starting point in Sacramento. Passengers rode by train as far as possible and then continued their journeys by stagecoach. The Pioneer agent is the man in the high hat standing alongside the coach. Photo by Alfred A. Hart.
