David wasable to prevail over the Philistineswith a sling and a stone, only becauseof his faith in God. Rev. Connon, saidalso that Saul was displeased withDavid because the people praised himmore highly than himself. Quoting the8th and 9th Chapter:,And Saul wasworth and the saying displeased himand he said, They have ascrided untoDavid ten thousands, and to me theyascribed but thousand: and what canhe have more but the kingdom? And Saul eyed David from that dayand forward. Rev. Connon dismissed
