It is formedof a reddish, close-grained porphyriticrock, and is subquadrate in section atthe butt. It was found at Mennithorpe,Yorkshire, and is in the collection ofthe Rev. W. Greenwell, Inthe same collection is a thin celt ofclay-slate, 4f inches long, of muchthe same form, but rounded at theshoulder. It was found at Ryedale,in the North Riding of Yorkshire.
