Major General Ormond R. Simpson, Commanding General of the 1st Marine Division, bids farewell to his Marines and expresses gratitude for a successful mission on October 6, 1969. More than 2,550 Marines from the 1st Marine Division were redeployed utilizing the USS Iwo Jima to bring them back home.
