The Opera was finally inaugurated in 1875, 8 years after the Exposition Universelle, and the lightning conductors were integrated into the groups of statues. Illustration from "Les Merveilles de la science ou description populaire des inventions modernes" written by Louis Figuier and published in 1867 by Furne, Jouvet et Cie.
