Prime Minister Mark Rutte, during a brief pause in government coalition talks, delayed by the still ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. On the 15 January 2021, the entire Dutch cabinet resigned, taking full responsibly for the ‘Childcare benefits scandal’. Prime Minister Rutte has maintained his role as minister, albeit in a caretaker capacity along with the rest of the cabinet. Prime Minister Rutte, is head of the ‘Popole’s Party for Freedom and Democracy (VVD)’. Rutte was elected in Prime Minister in 2010 and acting Prime Minister since March 2021.
