Egyptian statue sculpture of a cows head repres=enting the god Montou, 2000-1900 BC, 11-12th Dynasty, Tod Thebes. Louvre Museum E15567. Height: 45 cm; Length: 54 cm; Depth: 30 cm. This is a very ancient representation of Montou as a bull. Montu was a falcon-god of war in ancient Egyptian religion, an embodiment of the conquering vitality of the pharaoh. He was particularly worshipped in Upper Egypt and in the district of Thebes. Found during the Tod Thebes Assouan Excavations .
